On the front is the new Virginia State Arms and the warning "Death to Counterfeit." Partly handwritten date Oct. 20, 1777. Printed on heavy rag paper with blue fibers which are very evident on the blank reverse. Also on the reverse a tobacco bale mark. During Colonial times tobacco was as good as money. This is the seal or mark of a tobacco company. Excellent serial number and signature of L. Wood. Holder notes hinged on reverse. This note has been authenticated, graded About Uncirculated 55 by Paper Money Guaranty and encapsulated in a tamper evident holder. $595.00 plus $10.00 shipping & handling. |
