This first issue of Continental Currency was put into circulation to pay the initial costs of the American Revolution. This note is signed by William Jackson and Andrew Bunner. To learn more about this famous Pennsylvania patriot click on his name. The emblem on this note is a beaver gnawing down a tree. The motto is PERSERVERANDO (By perseverance). This note has been authenticated, graded Extremely Fine 40 by Paper Money Guaranty and encapsulated in a tamper evident holder.
